La Gran Risa, one of the most beautiful slopes of the Dolomites, is located in the Alta Badia ski area, part of the famous Dolomites Superski.
The black run is 1.255 meters long, with an elevation gain of 448 and a maximum gradient of 54%, surrounded by a pine forest which is why almost completely in the shade all day, making it almost always frozen.
The telecabina from the village of La Villa at 1433 m goest to the top of Piz la Ila ( 2077m).
From Piz la Ila there are two runs black - Gran Risa , and simpler variant red - Alting.
Since 1985, the Gran Risa hosts giant slalom for men's World Cup Alpine Skiing, which takes place usually at the ent of December.
In 2005, in the final part of the track there were added two gigantic humps, 150 meters long and with a slope exceeding 40%,
that addition made possible the approval of Gran Risa also for the special slalom races.
